What Size Impact High Anxiety Crate for a German Shepherd or Rottweiler?

Short answer: Impact lists the 40+ XL High Anxiety Crate for both German Shepherds and Rottweilers.

The published size is about 40.5 in long × 27 in wide × 33–33.5 in high, with a weight around 60 pounds.

Why the “+” Matters

The regular 40-inch Large is also 40.5 inches long, but it is only 23 inches wide and 29 inches high. The 40+ XL adds about four inches of width and roughly four inches of height without getting longer.

For a broad-chested or taller dog, that difference can matter more than another few inches of crate length.

What If the Dog Is Bigger Than the Typical Breed Example?

Impact’s next options add either length or both width and height. The 48-inch 2XL is 48.5 inches long, while the 48+ 2XL+ adds substantially more width at 32.5 inches.
